Ben Boer is Emeritus Professor in the University of Sydney Law School.
From 2011 to 2020 he was Distinguished Professor in the Research Institute of Environmental Law at Wuhan University, China.

Formerly also he was Co-Director of the IUCN Academy of Environmental Law and Deputy Chair of the IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law.

Ben is a member of the Board of Governors of the International Council of Environmental Law and a member of the Australian Academy of Law. He is a founder of the Chinese Journal of Environmental Law.
Currently he acts as a consultant to UNEP on human rights and environment issues.
